About

Greg WeirGreg Weir

I have spent most of my life in the software and Internet industries, specializing in digital marketing.

At 19 years old, I opened and operated a successful retail computer store in Toronto. After selling the business, I continued to develop software and online tools while working as a radio announcer. Following that, I accepted the position of Webmaster for Canada’s largest independent Internet Service Provider, Internet Direct.

When Internet Direct acquired Tucows, I managed the technical and operations components for the Tucows software download sites. In 2003, I became Director, Content Division for Tucows. I left Tucows in late 2011 to focus on Internet Marketing, SEO and Social Media.

I also continue to operate Tartanleaf.com Inc., an Independent Software Vendor business producing  server-monitoring software, Information Products and Internet Marketing related tools and services.

In February 2013, I joined Nicom Interactive, one of Atlantic Canada’s premier integrated software, web development, and marketing solutions providers as their Senior Internet Marketing Consultant.

I remain a member of and have sat on the Board of Directors for the Association of Software Professionals.

I’m comfortable with public speaking and have presented at numerous webinars, conferences and trade shows around the world over the years. I build solid business relationships and believe exceptional customer support is key.

I studied Computer Engineering, Project Management and Radio Broadcasting at Humber College and received degrees in Psychology and Mass Communication from York University.

Businessphoto.ca is a division of Tartanleaf.com. Photography is a passion of mine, and over time has become more of a focus for me. I have long been interested in photography and have completed several photography courses instructed by Ben Long and Douglas Kirkland as well as completing Google’s own Trusted Independent Photographer program in August 2012. After completing my training with Google, I became the first certified Google Business Photos Trusted Photographer in Atlantic Canada. I primarily use Canon cameras with Canon and Sigma lenses. I use Adobe, Apple and Google proprietary software for post processing.

Click here or on the Google Business Photos Trusted Photographer Badge on the right hand side of this page to confirm my certification standing with Google or to find a list of other Google certified photographers in Canada directly on the Google Maps website.
